Another song which I’m not so happy about. I think it’s time to take a break :)
Songs made with: Groove Agent ONE
I was liking this song in the beginning, but by the end I don’t really like it anymore. The mixing is pretty bad. The “width” or “space” of the song doesn’t feel right. Oh, well.
Three different melodies (including the bass) playing well together. Only Native Instruments synths are used for the melodies this time. Groove Agent ONE is the only synth that is not from NI for this song.
Since a long time I haven’t used Arpache 5 and Chorder from the Cubade midi inserts, so I decided it was time for a song with them again. But I think it’s the first time I use them with minimoog-v.
There’s still something missing for the song to sound as I would have liked, but after trying and trying I still couldn’t find that thing.
Started a bit like a hip hop kinda song but then turned into the more usual mysterious electronic sound of me.
Instead of using automation to have different volumes in different parts, this time I simply created duplicates of the same track and set the volume on each.
Nothing special to this song. As in no interesting melodies or anything. It was just about layering sounds and trying to make it interesting. 6 of them from Reaktor only. And added samples from freesound.org to make it even more interesting.
I used a sample of a female singing which I found on freesound.org and used VariAudio to change it into something totally different. Then added some delay and reverb to it to make it sound nicer.
I kept it quite simple but I think it’s a pretty cool song. I thought of adding more to it but then decided it was not necessary. 3 layers playing the same thing all using minimoog-v make it sound full.
