Week 28 of 2011
Recorded on Jul 18, 2011 in Granada, Spain. This week I decided to do something different. After facebook told me that Otomata had released and update, I started playing with it and decided to use it as the basis for this week's song. This is the first time that I use something other than what came bundled with Cubase or my own guitar. It's very simple but I don't have more time, and you can hear clearly what could be done with Otomata. I will include it again in a weekly song in the future.
Here's how I did it:
The sounds from Otomata are as is straight from the app without any processing or effects, except at the very end a little delay for a nice ending.
Here's how I did it:
- Recorded 5 different parts in Otomata. Each time adding or changing something small.
- With each part I changed the scale in real time like so: Yue-Diao (2X) -> Bayati (2X) -> Dorian -> Harmonic minor
- Saved and imported the parts into Cubase, and adjusted them to align with the 150 bpm tempo.
- And then to make it more of a song I added a beat, bass, and a melody.
The sounds from Otomata are as is straight from the app without any processing or effects, except at the very end a little delay for a nice ending.
